Elizabeth and Nick’s Wequassett Resort Wedding was one of my favorite days this year! Everything about this day was right in line with my style and heart. I connected so quickly with these two and could not have picked another couple to have such a perfect wedding day! The deserve every bit of happiness in the world.
As the day unfolded…
The day started at Elizabeth’s parents beautiful home on the Cape. We got ready here and waited for their antique car to arrive. This teal car was the most classic backdrop for a lot of their photos, and really tied in the blue hues throughout the day. We then headed to the church where Nick was to see Elizabeth at the aisle for the first time. This moment was priceless and you need to see his reaction! Another sweet, sweet moment during their ceremony was when their nephew, Maverick. He had told everyone that he wouldn’t look when they had their kiss at the ceremony, and sure enough, in the most adorable way every, he hid his face as they went in for their first kiss as newly weds.
After the ceremony was over we captured portraits at the Chatham Lighthouse. We also ventured around their Wequassett Resort Wedding venue for photos. The reception space was covered in twinkle lights and warm florals. Every entrance from their wedding party was epic, and their dance floor was one to remember. One of the most emotional wedding memories I have yet to experience was when Elizabeth and Nick planned to have a special song for their grandparents. It was their grandparents anniversary day, and they danced to the same “first dance” song on their own wedding day. Not a dry eye in the room.
About the happy couple…
These two met doing a volunteer program in Detroit called JVC. Nick is from Chicago and Elizabeth is from Boston. They were friends for a year at their program before they started dating. Nick made his move five weeks before the end of the program! Being so closely involved in such an honorable thing together really shows that they have giving hearts.
Elizabeth and Nick are both very energetic and friendly. They love to have fun, and the most important thing to them is their family and friends. You could really see this throughout their day. Nick is an introvert and Elizabeth is the extrovert. She likes to move a million miles a minute and be with people all the time, where as Nick recharges by slowing down and spending time alone, or silently with Elizabeth.
What a joy it has been to work with these two and their families. I wish nothing the best for them and hope to keep in touch!
