Shelby and Dalton’s whimsical Mountain Star Estate wedding is finally here and I am so excited to share their day with you. I know Shelby from junior high/high school where we went to school together at Windham Christian Academy. When she called me about her wedding I was over the moon excited for her and Dalton! Shelby loves to plan, so I knew it would be amazing working with her. When I met Dalton for the first time it was so clear how well they fit together.

These two met at work, but it wasn’t until their company Christmas party when they actually talked to each other. That Winter they went out snowboarding with friends a couple times and by Spring they finally made plans to go out. It was obvious Dalton loved the outdoors, so Shelby suggested they go fishing. Believe it or not she had never been before so she got her fishing license. That weekend Dalton taught Shelby how to fish on their first date

They brought me to the place they are planning on building their first home for their engagement photos. It was a classic woodsy Maine field and we even included their dog, Teeka. We headed down to the river to capture some more photos while they fished just like their first date. Between their engagement photos and their rustic Mountain Star Estate wedding you could tell these two are the perfect, down to earth match for each other.

Shelby told the story of how Dalton got down on one knee and it’s adorable – “I was barely awake when Dalton asked if I wanted to take a walk with him and Teeka. I was happy to get some fresh air… thinking it would be quick and close by. While getting ready he mentions he wants to go to our property in Limerick… which is 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the store. This detour was not fitting well into my schedule, but I really loved that he asked me to come along… so with an “alrighty let’s motor!” we were off to Limerick. While taking pictures of Teeka jumping through the snow and talking about where to build our house he handed me a card with a pencil. As I read it he got down on one knee… dream come true! It was just like my favorite country song when I was little and of course I checked YES!”

The getting ready was held in the lodge and we went to Smalls Falls for their first look on the bridge. They said their “I do’s” at the top of the mountain behind the estate and then we took their formal photos with the colored mountains as the backdrop. The leaves were at their peak on their wedding day and beautiful to say the least. Their reception was held in the barn with rustic blue tones, and partying on the long dance floor was had until late into the night. Dalton and Shelby, I loved your Mountain Star Estate wedding and am so excited to show you your full gallery!
