Katherine and Thomas’ Maine Fall wedding was a labor of love with all their closest family and friends. I met these two in person just a week before their wedding. Thomas is from Alna Maine, so we decided to shoot their engagement photos right by his childhood home. It was pouring the day of their shoot, but we braved the rain and just went for it! I try so hard to avoid rainy conditions when shooting, but I am kind of loving it lately. The photos honestly ended up being so romantic with the rain. Be on the look out for my next blog post with their engagement shoot!
I really feel that how Katherine and Thomas approached their rainy engagement day is a reflection of their personalities. They’re both very easy going with a real sense of adventure, all while being warm and gentle in their demeanors. As soon as I met these two I got the sense that they genuinely care for others.
They had their Maine Fall wedding at Old Head Tide Church in Alna Maine right down the road from Thomas’ childhood home. Katherine reminded me of myself as she walked down the aisle. She was swept up with emotion and had tears in her eyes the whole way. It was so sweet and even made me tear up a bit! Their tight knit reception was held at The Old Goat in Richmond, owned by Thomas’ father.
When I asked Katherine and Thomas what they werealking down the aisle, saying the wedding vows and exchanging rings, walking into the Old Goat as a married couple and seeing everyone there, spending time and celebrating with everyone, and bringing our families together for the first time.” I loved all of these answers!
Their day was the perfect ending to my 2017 season. This wedding has really got me itching for more intimate celebrations. It was warm, unforced, and timeless. I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
