Kelly and Shane’s Migis Lodge Engagement Session was one for the books! We began the shoot with Kelly & Shane’s new pup, Stevie. This provided a casual segment for the shoot that captured the personalities of the couple’s little “family.”
For the next part of the session, we chose the backdrop of woodland Maine for their nature setting. We dressed Kelly in a modern white V-neck gown, accented by a simple crown, woven delicately with natural greenery to create an earthy touch. I designed her bouquet to resemble a forest canopy of wild flowers by creating a loose cascade of various ferns, ivory hydrangeas, eucalyptus, dusty miller and burgundy button mums, finished with tiny clusters of blooming alyssum.
The inclusion of a 19th century traditional Queen Anne chair set amidst the towering pine trees at Casco, Maine’s, Migis Lodge, provided the perfect ethereal contrast of a woodland style with a vintage timeless elegance. This style will also be the theme of Kelly and Shane’s New England wedding in September. Be on the lookout for their wedding post soon! *UPDATE* their wedding blog post is HERE.
